PM Modi Talks With Putin And Biden: India Becomes Most Wanted Player Internationally

The G-7 is the group of the world’s seven most significant economies, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, The UK, The US and The European Union but The EU is non mentioned member. In G-7, all members are the world’s largest economies and affluent liberal democracies. Germany will host the recent G-7 on June 26.

BRICS is a group of the world’s developing economies, including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. China hosted the recent summit on June 22, but now Germany invited India for the G-7 meeting 2022. India is the only country that works and is part of different groups with Russia and The US.

This week PM Modi showed remarkable strength in foreign policy. India joined BRICS and showed true friendship with Russia. PM Modi attended the G-7 summit in Germany with The USA.

G-7 members discussed their next move against Russia, and now PM Modi will also attend as a special invitee to the meeting on June 26-27, the Ministry of External Affairs as Wednesday.

India is now faced with more pressure from G-7 countries, including Canada, France, Italy, Germany, the UK, the US and the EU as they all imposed sanctions on Russia since the country launched its attack on Ukraine. G-7 members want that India should not purchase Russian oil and avoid the rupee-ruble mechanism for trade. Still, everyone expected PM Modi to speak in two sessions, including climate, food, security, energy, health, gender equality and democracy. The ministry of external affairs said that the Prime Minister would also hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines.

After the summit, PM Modi will visit Abu Dhabi, where Mr Modi will pay a compassionate visit after the death of UAE’s late President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and meet with new president Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The leaders of Argentina, Indonesia, Senegal and South Africa are other special invitees to the G-7 summit 2022. After that, one bilateral meeting is expected between Mr Modi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo on June 27.

In an interview with the CNBC channel, Mr Widodo called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine after the summit. Indonesian President Joko Widodo is expected to visit from Germany to Kyiv to meet president Zelensky and to Moscow to meet with Russian president PUTIN.

Joko Widodo may play a mediocrity because, in November 2022, Indonesia will host the G-20 summit. In G-20, NATO countries led by US President Biden wanted Russia to be expelled from the G-20 grouping like G-7 countries earlier G-8 countries ousted Russia from that group in 2014. India and Indonesia rejected a boycott in April when several G-20 countries did not participate in an international monetary fund meeting that the Russian finance minister Anton Siluanov attended.

At the G-7 summit, Mr Biden is expected to speak about the importance of sanctions on Russia, and the White House wants India to stop purchasing Russian oil and support sanctions to destroy Russian oil.

But India has clearly stated that it won’t support any sanctions and the will continue to buy Russian oil as it doesn’t compromise the national security.
