NEET PG Counselling delay over the months leading into the Resident Doctors Protest in Delhi for almost a month now. The situation escalates when the protesting doctors claim that they are manhandled brutally by the Delhi Police during the protest on Monday. Post this incident the agitation intensifies with FAIMA and FORDA Supporting the protest. On the other hand, Delhi is seeing an upsurge of corona cases. The capital is also facing the highest number of Omicron cases at the present. So, the CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal writes a letter to PM Modi ” to personally solve the issue”.
Kejriwal writes in his letter to PM ” On one hand the Omicron variant is spreading at an alarming rate, but on the other hand doctors of government hospital under centre government is on strike. Resident doctors at many hospitals like AIIMS, Safdurjung and Ram Manohar Lohia are on strike for last one month”.
NEET PG Counselling Delay Cons Stated by CM in letter to the PM :
As we all know that these doctors are the backbone of our healthcare system and they have fought day and night for us during the pandemic. CM Kejriwal says that it’s a matter of deep despair that even their persistent struggle, the demands of the resident doctors are still not fulfilled by the Central government. However, it is more upsetting to see that when these doctors were protesting silently police behaved violently and harassed them too as said by Kejriwal in his letter.
“It is very sad to see doctors on strike”. The delay in NEET PG counseling not only affects the career of these doctors but also leads to a shortage of doctors in hospitals. As an effect, the burden on doctors present in the hospital increases many folds. ” I request the Central government to conduct the counseling as soon as possible”. We need these doctors inside the hospital not struggling on roads. In the end, he requests PM to look personally into the matter so that the protest of these resident doctors comes to an end. Corona is again picking up across the nation. Delhi is in the yellow alert zone due to a sudden rise in cases. More than 45000 resident doctors are waiting for this counselling. Union Minister Manksukh Mandaviya Said that the matter is in Supreme Court and the hearing is on 6th Jan 2022. So till that period doctors should serve the public.
