A Distress Move For Democracy

Indian government’s decision to reconstruct its mission in Afghanistan will disturb several people, especially those who love democracy. Many believed that India would never support any terror group like the Taliban this time. Not India but 14 other Nations have opened their embassies in Afghanistan in the last ten months. These include Pakistan, Russia, China, Iran, Turkey, Central Asian Republics, the EU and Germany.

It is a necessary step for India because after reopening the embassy, now it gives eyes and ears, allowing Indian diplomats to meet all kinds of Afghans and foreign diplomats. Even the Taliban has sent its diplomats to four countries-China, Russia, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

Taliban adopted an Independent foreign policy, and the Taliban said it would no longer allow the fencing of the Durand line, no matter what Pakistan said. Now Taliban has built up its position on the ceasefire negotiations between the Pakistan military head by Faiz Hamid, former head of ISI.

No Need For Third Contact Between New Delhi And Kabul

During Singh’s visits, Taliban leaders self-assured him that they would not allow Afghan soil to be used by Pakistan-based terror groups to attack India.
