‘Will Dissolve Assembly If No-Confidence Motion Is Withdrawn’: Imran Khan

The number game of the Opposition is getting stronger amid the ongoing political crisis of Pakistan. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has proposed that he will dissolve the assembly if the no-confidence motion against him is withdrawn. This information has been given in a report of Pakistan based agency Geo News.

The report quoted sources as saying that an important personality has conveyed this message of Imran Khan to the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif. According to sources, this came to the fore in a meeting of opposition leaders ahead of the assembly session to debate the no-confidence motion.

Sources have further said that PM Imran Khan has also said that if the opposition parties do not agree to my suggestion, then he is ready to face any situation. The joint opposition has discussed Imran Khan’s suggestion and message during the meeting.

However, sources say that most opposition leaders have suggested that Imran Khan should not be trusted. He said, “At present we have sufficient strength in the assembly.SO, as soon as the process on the no-confidence motion is completed, we will only benefit.”

National Security Committee Meeting Called

Imran has also called a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC). It is Pakistan’s highest forum for

discussion on security issues. Imran had effectively lost a majority in parliament a day earlier when an ally of the ruling coalition government dumped him and joined the opposition camp over a no-confidence motion.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary said in a tweet that this meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s residence. This will include the chief of services, the chief minister, the national security adviser and top intelligence officials. Chaudhary told in another tweet that Imran Khan will also address the country this evening. However, the date of his address has not been made public yet.
