UP Assembly Election Result: Areas Where Yogi Adityanath Failed In His Last Reign

UP DGP Mukul Goel removed

A second time in a row, the BJP is voted to power in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The BJP administration has received a resounding mandate from the people. In 2017, Uttar Pradesh elected Yogi Adityanath as its new chief minister. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Gorakhpur five times before becoming CM.

During Yogi’s five years in office, there have been many highs and lows for the party. Some positive reforms have been implemented, however, Yogi Adityanath has failed to meet expectations in other areas.

The following are some areas where Yogi had great expectations, but he failed to live up to them during his first term.

Issue Of Joblessness

Uttar Pradesh has the nation’s largest population. The Yogi government’s greatest failing has been unemployment. COVID-19, on the other hand, has led to a decrease in employment and a price hike.

Even still, Yogi Adityanath was unable to perform a job-creation miracle in the state. In 2021, the unemployment rate in UP was higher than it was in 2017. In recent UP elections, unemployment has also been a major topic. People in urban and rural areas are still unable to make ends meet on a daily basis.

Lack Of Pandemic Management

It is a fact that COVID-19 have had an influence on people all around the globe. During this difficult period, a great many individuals have lost their loved ones. Claims that Yogi couldn’t manage well during the COVID-19 period have been made by the Opposition. It had also alleged that the state administration did not reveal the true number of COVID-19 sufferers.

24-Hour Power Supply In UP

Every election, big promises are made about bringing 24-hour electricity to the state of Uttar Pradesh. However, this promise never comes to fruition. Even still, power is not available 24 hours a day in many towns and villages.

The government has not been able to offer power 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is still a long way to go until the state of Uttar Pradesh is fully electrified, according to power statistics.

Fear In Minds Of Minorities

Hindu nationalists look to Yogi Adityanath as their leader. Yogi still frightens other minorities in UP. The opposition also claimed that Yogi was prejudiced towards a certain faith. Yogi failed to captivate the state’s minority population.
Many cases of racial profiling and racial discrimination have occurred in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Under his leadership, the minority does not feel fully secure.

Farmers’ Loans

Yogi Adityanath, the newly elected chief minister, has outlined a number of initiatives aimed at reducing agricultural debt. However, the number of farmers benefiting is significantly smaller than the total number of small farmers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

All qualified farmers have yet to get waivers of their loan obligations. Whether a yogi can make up for this deficit in a second term would be extremely fascinating to watch

In the state legislature of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP won 255 of the 403 seats. Despite the fact that the BJP has won the majority of seats, its share of the vote has declined. The yogi’s success in the UP elections is historic, and that cannot be disputed.

In his second term, it would be fascinating to observe how a yogi handled a large number of cabinet members being replaced. For the BJP, UP’s performance is a good omen for the 2024 elections.
