Public-Related Problems Are Rising But…” Priyanka Gandhi Takes A Dig At The BJP On Completing 9 Yrs At Centre: Here’s Why!

Priyanka Gandhi, a leader in the Congress, criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration on Friday after nine years in power at the centre of the country, claiming that although public problems are getting worse, the governing party is doing PR stunts rather than working to address them. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, claimed on Twitter that issues like unemployment and inflation were referred to by the central government as Amrit Kaal and Sabka Vikas, respectively.

“Nine years of unemployment as “Amrit Kaal”, inflation as “Sabka Vikas”, a crippled economy, and corruption as “Double engine growth”. People’s problems are increasing, but instead of solving them, PM Modi’s government’s propaganda-PR and jumla business is increasing. #NaakamiKe9Saal,” she tweeted. Notably, earlier in the day, the Congress asked the BJP a series of nine questions, covering topics including the economy, farmers, corruption, democracy, and national security. On this day, the Congress party also made a publication titled “9 Saal 9 Sawaal.”

“On the completion of nine years of the Modi Government, the Congress party wants to ask 9 questions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are also releasing a document for the same ‘9 saal 9 sawaal’,” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said while addressing a press conference here. The nine questions were provided by Congress in a tweet, which stated that the Prime Minister“must respond to these nine questions before the BJP begins to celebrate”. “Why are inflation and unemployment skyrocketing in India? Why have the rich become richer and the poor become poorer? Why is public property being sold to PM Modi’s friends, even as economic disparities are increasing?” Questioning the government on the economic front was stated in the document.

The party questioned the administration about the government’s decision to double the income of farmers and inquired as to why they were not legally entitled to the Minimum Support Price. “Why is it that the agreements made with farmers while repealing the three black farm laws have not been honoured? Why has MSP not been legally guaranteed? Why didn’t farmers’ income double over the last 9 years?” it read.

The grand old party criticising the central government questioned why the BJP had been “silent” on the suspected corruption in states governed by the BIP. “Why are you putting people’s hard-earned savings in LIC and SBI at risk to benefit your friend Adani? Why are you letting thieves escape? Why are you silent on rampant corruption in BIP-ruled states, and why are you letting Indians suffer?” the document read. Congress questioned the administration on the subject of national security and China, asking: “Why is it that even after your clean chit to China in 2020, they continue to occupy Indian territory?

18 meetings have been held with China, yet why do they refuse to yield Indian territory and instead continue with their aggressive tactics?” “Why is it that your oppressive government is methodically destroying the foundations of social justice? Why are you silent on the atrocities against women, Dalits, SC, ST, OBCs, and minorities? Why are you ignoring the demand for a caste census?” it added. “Why are you deliberately using the politics of hatred for electoral gains and fueling an atmosphere of fear in society?,” the Congress asked. The party pressed hard on the subject of democracy and demanded to know why the administration had “weakened” the principles of the Constitution.  On May 26, 2014, Narendra Modi took the oath of office to begin his first term as prime minister. On May 30, 2019, PM Modi took the oath of office to begin his second term. (ANI)
