After this, instructions were given to the High Court to get the matter investigated by CBI.

At the same time, CM Mamta Banerjee had visited the affected village two days after the incident. During this, she had announced financial help and government jobs to the families of the dead and the families of the injured. She had also promised to get the houses burnt in the arson.

The CBI, while investigating the matter, decided to find out the truth and lies by conducting a forensic test by a psychologist for the nine people arrested by the CBI.

Calcutta High Court directs to conduct a CBI inquiry into the death of Congress councilor

The Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered a CBI inquiry into the death of Congress councilor Tapan Kandu. The High Court gave this order after the prayer of Tapan Kandu’s wife Poornima Kandu. Justice Rajasekhar Mahanta has ordered the investigating agency to submit the investigation report within 45 days in this case.

Along with this, the court also directed the West Bengal Police to hand over the matter to the CBI. It is noteworthy that Congress councilor Tapan Kandu was elected councilor from Jhalda Municipality area of ​​Purulia district of West Bengal. He was shot dead on 13 March. The West Bengal Police was investigating the matter. At the same time, Tapan Kandu’s wife had filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court to get the matter investigated by the CBI. Hearing this petition, the High Court gave this order.
