While speaking up on the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress Party senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday said that the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will not be lecturing about its policies with the people of India but listening to the issues of people of India. Through Bharat Jodo Yatra Rahul Gandhi will not give speeches but will listen to different sections of the society and try to solve their issues.

Rahul Gandhi will undertake a padyatra of about 3500 km from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Kashmir in about 150 days on 7 September. This padyatra will pass through different parts of the country.

‘Aim to unite the country against the divisive policy of BJP’

While addressing reporters, All India Congress Committee general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the purpose of the yatra is to unite India against the BJP’s policy of dividing India.

He said this is the biggest political mobilization undertaken by the party and factors like social polarization, economic inequality, and centralization of powers were behind Gandhi’s launch of padyatra. Ramesh said, Rahul Gandhi is not going to give a speech, he is going to listen.

Rahul Gandhi Will Listen Eagerly To People: Ramesh

He further said, “Bharat Jodo Yatra is not a speaking journey, but a listening journey where Rahul Gandhi will listen eagerly to the people.” “The BJP believes in Todo India. Congress believes in India Jodo,” he said. He said that Gandhi would cover the entire journey on foot. “It is a public, open and transparent exercise”, he said. So all like-minded people are invited to join Gandhi’s padyatra.

Will Address Huge Public Meeting In Kanyakumari

Ramesh said after addressing a huge public meeting in Kanyakumari on 7 September, Gandhi would start the padyatra the next morning.

MK Stalin Will Also Join The Padyatra

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief KS Alagiri said that DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will attend Gandhi’s padyatra in Kanyakumari and will hand over the national flag of India to the Congress leader. Leaders of various organizations and parties will participate in the public meeting addressed by Gandhi.
