Income Tax Department Raids Against Unrecognized Political Parties, Action Taken On Tax Evasion!!

The Income Tax Department has conducted raids in several states in connection with tax evasion against registered unrecognized political parties of India. Actually, News agency PTI has given this information by quoting the sources. According to official sources, all the registered unrecognized political parties are accused of tax evasion after raising suspicious funds. It is being told that this action has been taken on the recommendation of the Election Commission of India. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Raids taking place in these states

Sources close to the case said that meanwhile, the search operation is going on in various states including Gujarat, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, and some other states. A coordinated action has also been initiated by the Income Tax Department against Registered Unrecognized Political Parties (RUPPs) and their affiliated entities, operators and others.

Action taken on recommendation of Election Commission

According to the sources, action has been taken by the Income Tax Department on the recommendation of the Election Commission (EC) of India which recently de-listed 87 entities from the RUPP list after they were found non-existent during the physical verification by the officials. The Election Commission of India had announced that it was taking action against over 2,100 registered unrecognized political parties for violating rules and electoral laws. Under this, all these political parties had failed to update their addresses and the names of office-bearers regarding the filing of monetary contribution. Let us tell you that some of these parties were also involved in serious financial irregularities.
