Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AAP, received the following tweet from Ms. Irani: “Gutter mouth Gopal Italia now abuses Hira Ba with your blessings”. “I prefer no outrage, I don’t want to show how indignant Gujaratis are but know this you have been judged & your party shall be decimated electorally in Gujarat. Now the people will deliver justice,” read the rest of the caption.

Guttermouth Arvind Kejriwal With your approval, Gopal Italia is currently abusing Hira Ba. I would rather not express fury because I don’t want to demonstrate the level of outrage Gujaratis feel, but I want you to know that you have been judged and that your party will lose the Gujarat election. Justice will now be served by the populace.

Aam Aadmi Party leader allegedly made harsh comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an old video, according to Union minister Smriti Irani, fueling a massive political controversy in Gujarat ahead of elections. AAP will be “decimated” in the upcoming elections in Gujarat, according to Ms. Irani, who tweeted a new video apparently showing its leader Gopal Italia insulting the prime minister’s mother Hiraben Modi, who is 99 years old.

When the video was taken is not specified. Ms. Irani said in a tweet directed at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal: “Guttermouth Gopal Italia now abuses Hira Ba with your blessings”. “I prefer no outrage, I don’t want to show how indignant Gujaratis are but know this you have been judged & your party shall be decimated electorally in Gujarat. The National Woman’s Commission today called Gopal Italia, a young leader who AAP chose to serve as its convenor in Gujarat two years ago, in for an interview. The investigation concerned a 2018 video that was tweeted on Sunday by the head of the BJP’s IT cell. In it, Mr. Italia is alleged to have called Prime Minister Modi a “neech aadmi” (lowly person).

The panel deemed Mr. Italia’s comment to be “gender discriminatory, sexist, and condemnable” and claimed he used “abusive and obscene words” towards PM Modi. After being freed three hours later, Mr. Italia complained that panel head Rekha Sharma had “abused” him. “When I went to her office, she was abusive. I just walked out with my hands down, “Mr. Italia stated.

“Instead of hearing me out, the NCW chairperson called the police and sent me to the police station. This shows the entire BJP is plotting against the Patel community. They had many of us shot. They are jealous of Patidars. They want to harass me at any cost. The cops admitted they had orders from above to detain me,” he told NDTV.

The BJP, according to the party, is using old films as campaign fodder in an election in which they would undoubtedly lose. According to AAP, Mr. Italia was targeted because he is from a low-income Patidar family and is a member of that community. “You are so rattled by the fear of defeat in Gujarat that you are releasing an old video of our state president Gopal Italia when he was not even a member of AAP, to target him now as he comes from a poor family and Patidaar community,” AAP’s national spokesperson Sanjay Singh mentioned reporters at a press conference.
