G20 Summit: Presidents Of Russia, Ukraine To Join, Ceasefire To Be Agreed Or Will Putin Boycott?

The G20 summit is going to be organized in Bali in November. Various speculations are being made regarding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin and their presence that they may mark in the upcoming summit that is organized to discuss the various problems that G20 countries suffer from.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin have both agreed to attend the G20 summit in Bali in November.

Joko Widodo, who is the current chairman of the G20 group, made the remarks in a televised statement on Friday. Widodo had said he had telephone conversations with Zelensky and Putin this week.

Widodo also said that he urged the leaders of both Ukraine and Russia to end the war through talks.

“I also reiterated the importance of ending this dangerous ongoing war immediately. I also stressed that peaceful efforts should also continue and Indonesia always stands ready to contribute to these peaceful efforts,” he said.

According to the Indonesian president, Putin and Zelensky were also invited to the G20 summit because the war in Ukraine has had a major impact on the global economy that we are suffering as of now.

“We know that the G20 summit will play a catalytic role in getting the global economy back on the track that this world needs,” Widodo said.

He said that he had rejected Ukraine’s leader’s arms request, but he would send humanitarian aid instead.

Widodo further said, “The Constitution of Indonesia and the principles of our foreign policy prevent us from providing arms aid to any other countries. However, we are ready to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in this war.”
