Delhi’s Doctors protest will be escalating as FAIMA [Federation of All India Medical Association] declares the complete withdrawal of healthcare services from 29th Dec 8 am onward. The declaration pours in after FAIMA charges the mishandling of the resident female doctors by the male police members yesterday. Resident doctors have been protesting against the Center government regarding the delay in NEET PG 2021 Counselling.
“Lathicharge on our resident doctors and manhandling of many female residents by the male police personnel during their peaceful demonstration is a pathetic display of the shameless attitude of the authorities” quotes FAIMA. On Monday a clash happened between the police and doctors on the road, which intensified as police started mishandling and treating doctors badly. As a result of it, the doctors returns their Aprons as a symbolic gesture and carried a march on the streets.
This incident is receiving a lot of criticism and backlashing from the common people and from opposition members too. These doctors are called the CORONA WARRIORS and such behavior is outrageous. Rahul Gandhi tweets ” Injustice Served”
Delhi’s Doctors protest can shake the healthcare system:
We all know that these doctors have put their lives at risk during this pandemic to save the millions. Such protests by them clearly show that the lapsing policies for the examination and their results. In regard to this these resident doctors are protesting so that as soon as possible the counselling of 40,000 – 45,000 resident doctors can take place. FAIMA also says that the whole medical fraternity is shocked at the sheer display of unprovoked brute force by Delhi police on our colleague. In addition to this FORDA [Federation Of Resident Doctors Association] calls out it as a ” Black Day in the history of medical fraternity”.
Not only this AIIMS Resident Doctors Association also calls in for a strike on 29th Dec including all the shut down of non-emergency services. AIIMS RDA also asks that all the detained doctors be freed with an apology letter from the government and the police against the brutality displayed during the protest. They also warned the government to look into the matter so that the protest does not escalate any further. Whereas inputs from the police say that 7 police members have got injuries during the face-off which happened near ITO. The police file an FIR under section 188 and others causing the obstruction in the duty of the police and damaging public property.
Conclusion :
The term Corona Warriors is also not enough to show the power these doctors have. Not only in pandemic they stand for humanity from the time they enter this profession. Without them, the functioning of the whole nation will collapse without a doubt. The NEET PG counselling activation is the foremost demand of these protesting doctors.
